If you’ve been waiting for your appointment for months, you might be entering the salon confidently with an album full of inspiration photos on your phone. But if you’re going for a bold new look, you may be nervous about how it’ll turn out. Well, what’s the worst thing that can happen? Hair grows back!
In the meantime, however, you might find yourself being roasted online for taking a huge risk with your hairdo. That’s where the That’s It, I’m Hair Shaming Facebook group comes in. This community is dedicated to finding the world’s wildest hairdos, so we’ve gathered some of their funniest pics down below. To find out more about That’s It, I’m Hair Shaming, we got in touch with the group’s Admin, Lufuno Khumalo. She was kind enough to have a chat with Bored Panda and share some background information about the hilarious community she started.
“The group was created 8 November 2019, and it was purely just for fun when shaming groups were starting out,” Lufuno says. “It’s honestly been mind-blowing to see the group get so big; it wasn’t expected but it’s been a fun ride.”

Next, we wanted to know what Lufuno thinks makes a hairstyle shame-worthy.
“It is based on two things: the process and/or the outcome. Because sometimes one trusts the process, and the outcome isn’t what one expected,” she explained with a laugh. “But sometimes the process is shocking, and the outcome is actually beautiful.”
The Admin also says that group members are very active in That’s It, I’m Hair Shaming. “Sometimes they’re so active that it requires me and my team to all monitor a post together,” Lufuno noted.

When it comes to the most popular posts in the community, she shared, “Based on group engagement, I can say the most favorite post or type of post would be bad hair dye jobs. I personally can’t pick a single favorite one, but one that stands out is our cover photo. We picked it because of the hilarious backstory.”
Finally, Lufuno noted that she works hard to ensure that the group is a welcoming place. “My team and I have put in a lot of effort moderating the group to make sure that it’s not racist, homophobic or sexist and [doesn’t discuss] politics or religion. So anyone can shame as long as it is only based on the hair on the head and nothing else.”
